Ah, I have another question. What happens when the race is over? Do we stop uploading the WU's to orangekids proxy? Will there be another race or is that just it?

We keep on cracking after the race, we still have 10 teams to overtake! :D

There may be more races in the future :).

It appears the team is already picking a fight-(race) with the "Forum Hardware.FR Team"

Personally, i want to pass that 12,000 member "Team Art Bell"

This is the Best thread on the whole DC forum!! I have referred to it many times for links and setup info while getting my rigs running Seti. Now if I could only claim those 4 problem results queued WU's, I'd break 100 WU's today. Thanks Sukhoi!!

Is there any info available how that SETI launcher works? I could assimilate additional 1.9GHz worth of CPU-cycles, but those comps are behind dial-up and I want SETI to be as unnoticeable as possible.

Is Orangekid required for this race? I mean, I can't use it (have some problems with it), but I believe my WU's are still calculated and added to the race results... Right???

You don't need to use Orange Kid's SETIQ. It's optional.
For SETI Launcher, I believe you install SETI Driver and getting it running normally. Then you put SETI Launcher in the SETI Driver folder, and put a shortcut to SETI Launcher in the StartUp folder. Then when SETI Launcher notices a dial-up connection it will start another instance of SETI Driver and fetch/flush WUs.

BTW, I've never actually used SETI Launcher, I just read that stuff somewhere.

WTF?

I recently changed from the GUI client to the CLI version on 2 of my computers and have enjoyed watching WUs completed in abt 5-1/2 hours. (Now getting 10-12 units done per day). This computer is now running a WU that says estimated time 33: 25 : 07!!!
Comp specs: Athlon thunderbird 1.0 @ 266MHz with 256MB RAM

How can a WU take so long? Any ideas what I should check to see that nothing is wrong?

Thanks
