:(. My prescott 3.0E gets to nearly 60C when I run SETI@Home. I've got a Zalman7700AlCu. What should I do to lower the load or osmething.

I wouldn't *mind* running SETI@Home, but in the summer my room gets incredibly hot with my computer on.

Tips?

The 3GHz p4s at work I run DC on also gets really hot, but they're all with stock hsf. I've noticed that they get hotter then the other machines and AMDs.. Not familier with your cooler, so not sure how much the temps are supposed to go down.

How's the ventilation in your case?

Pretty bad :p. 1 intake 1 exhaust. I'm getting more fans soon, but then again that wuold mean a hotter room since more heat gets exhausted :p.

My prescott here runs about that temp, strangely two others I built run cooler.
Mine is one of the newer ones with 2 megs cache and the others are the older 2.8E variety OC'd to about 3.3ghz and ran about 10C cooler than this 3.0 @ 3.4 does.

Only running seti on mine atm as the others were built for someone else and I removed it last time I was over there thinking seti1 has to end sometime soon and I didn't know when I would get back.
