I tell ya, I was going to give BOINC a try...but this hella annoying "complain" popup is really putting me off. It actually messes up some of my computing...interrupting me several times a day when I'm trying to work. 36,000wu and loads of time and now they adware me to death. GRRRRRR................

What add-on programs are you using? Using SETI Driver the only message i'm seeing is if i actually look at the text box when downloading WUs.
On my other comp running SETI Gate i only get one pop-up per session of uploading WUs.

Is that directly from the CLI client? ,if so (assuming you haven't switched to BOINC) you could use SETIDriver to control it.
I do & I haven't seen a single 'pop up' from SETI.
All I see about it is in my SETIQ ,refering to the message

:Q NEWS FLASH...I will NOT be moving onto Seti Boinc :Q

In a couple of days I will be pulling my 2.4ghz and 3.06ghz boxes from SETI Classic and doing F@H for TeAm.

The 500 p3 Thinkpad will continue SETI Classic for TABOO until the end.

I have very mixed emotions about all of this...SETI Classic is the Grandaddy of DC projects and we all got hooked good and fast.

Well, haven't heard anything official, so it's possibly yet another problem with the stats...


But, editing preferences and changing teams and so on isn't working either. Also, SETI@Home/BOINC at roughly the same time editing preferences stopped working, added a "password-recovery-option".
So, one possibility is they've for security-reasons disabled editing of preferences and so on a couple weeks earlier than they in any case would have disabled them...

If editing preferences was intentionally disabled, the cgi-stats stopped working can also have been intentional, but can also have been due to depending on cgi running...


Anyway, regardless of why the cgi-stats isn't working, with only 2 weeks left it's unlikely they'll be fixed at all...

If you say so... With my last "classic"-result returned in June 2004, even the SETI@Home/BOINC-stats is up-to date. 😉

I have just DISABLED downloading of new WUs.

With over 3,000 yet to be crunched, I don't see the need for any more. 😉

I disabled downloading over a week ago - if I crunch everything cached before the end I guess that will just be too dasm bad!

Well, don't know about the CGI-stats, but the other stats should atleast now be updated... when the stats-script comes to them that is. 😉

How about.. crashed classic science database? I just rebooted it, stats scripts have been restarted, usually take days to generate all the pages that everyone wants to see, etc.
