Seti freezes my notebook

I have a new T41 with 1 GB PC 2700 ram. I installed Seti today version 3.08 and had some major problems with the machine locking up and programs not responding. I had no problems before seti was loaded. This is my first experience with Seti doing bad things, at a previous time I had it running on every machine with minimal impact. Somehow on my T41 it was totally using up all the resources (a guess). Does anyone have a suggestion. For now I have uninstalled the program.

Thanks

I was running the GUI, but my notebook does use a Microsoft Plus screen saver (the aquarium).

Usually if your computer is lower on resources the GUI works better than the screensaver. You may want to go to the DC board and ask them what's up...

That screensaver will use up 100% of your CPU which leaves nothing for SETI.

I haven't had any problem with seti on my t40 with only 128 mb of ram. I use the cli version.
