SETI: BOINC appears to be running again

Due to a legal issue, we are suspending the BOINC beta test, and we have requested that BOINC source code no longer be available at Sourceforge.net. We hope to resolve this issue soon.

What kind of legal issue could that possibly be? The use of somebody else's proprietary non-GPLed code within the project? Whatever it is, that does suck, and badly. :frown:

Woa that is wild. I haven't spoken with Dr Anderson in a long while, maybe I could see if it is a showstopper or a temporary setback.

"BOINC beta testers:
We hope to have a resolution to the legal situation in slightly over a month. In the meantime, feel free to switch your computer back to SETI@home, Folding@home, or your project of choice.

If you ask me the project has became corupted... mostly from cheaters but a lot of other things too- I do not plan to get into it thoe and start listing a list of what I think is freaked up about the project thoe. I do hope they get things fix so I can start on the new SETI project.
