SETI: Berkeley seems to be down

Mmmm... is anyone getting thru at the moment? (6:20pm Eastern time)
I've tried to connect a couple of times but it's a no-go. Can't ping the server either, though on the "Server Status" it says it's up & running.

I see, it's the inbound server that's having fits, just looked at orangkids seti stats page, today are 0's with a rare 1 in the list here and there. I've got about 6 days cached, hopefully it won't come to any of us having idle wu time.

I guess I'm downloading from orangkids queue. my setidriver has his server as the proxy on port 5001 like it shows in the AT config on the faq's pages for seti.

After doubling my WU cache yesterday, I'm glad that this outage isn't hurting my output, now if Berkeley's down tomorrow, I'm going to be pissed 🙁

Those of you trying to get setup on the TeAm Smokeball Q are running into difficulty at the moment because Berkeley is currently down. A Q must do a PASS-THROUGH of the first WU before a new CLIENT/Q can be established.

The Q is constantly trying to make contact with Berkeley so as soon as the bandwidth returns you will be able to complete your changeovers. 🙂

Thanks for that explaination Smokeball; I currently use the SetiQueue that Soni has set up, though one of my crunchers(at work) wasn't configured to use the proxy, so your info provides the answer for why I couldn't get it to connect. 🙂 🙁 Oh well, guess it's D2OL to the rescue.. I just can't get my mind around the irony of that..

OK, folks ... it appears Berkeley has just returned to good bandwidth. 🙂

Open for business. 😀😀😀

With a slight caveat:

Data Server Status
The data server is up and running, but dropping connections
Right now the data server machine is up, but not all clients are able to connect. This is due to our server being swamped with requests, and usually happens right after a server outage, or if there are greater network/database problems we are currently trying to fix. Please try connecting later.

Attention New users of the TeAm Smokeball SetiQueue

After you have identified your Q send me a PM and I'll NAME your Q to coincide with your Seti Name. 😉 🙂
