SETI Bandwidth Issue on /.

YABCT (Yet another bandwidth complaint thread)...

Every NT Admin's favorite site Slashdot posted a note about the bandwidth issues that SETI is experiencing. Feel free to verbally abuse, I mean challenge, Team /.. while you're there.

And if it seems even harder to pull down w/u's over the next few hours this is probably the reason why. Nothing better than kicking a man while he's down...why run a link on the front of slashdot complaining how Berk. has no bandwidth? Seems very counterproductive.

Considering the userbase of Slashdot is still mostly tech industry, despite the trolls, there's a good chance that the post will actually benefit S@H in a few ways (What better way to try to get bandwidth than by catching the attention of someone who admins the business end of an OC3?). On top of that, the 20kbytes per page or so is nothing compared to the 300+kbytes per work unit.

But if you multiply 20KB times the user base of Slashdot you get a lot of 1's and 0's. Hopefully it will foster some donations though...
