Seti and RC5...

Losty

I thought when i first joined that i read seti and rc5 doesn't affect games or any applications used...

i ran into a problem recording with my tvwonder...lines appearing randomly and it took me a while but i found out that when i shutdown seti...the lines disappear....odddd....

although i still get bluescreen at random...don't know why....grrrrr

oh yeah.... rc5 i lost this a while ago and forgots....abouts it.... can someone link where to dl the prog?

Thanks...

Sounds like maybe your system is overheating. Seti and RC5 stress your CPU, causing more heat than would normally be created by an idle system. If your heatsink is inadequate, the extra heat would cause random errors like what you've described.

As far as I know, both RC5 and Seti, as well as most DC programs I suppose, would cause this.

I agree with MaxSiren. All 4 of my PC's including my main box run SETI@Home 24/7/365. I don't even shut it down when I play games. Try running Motherboard Monitor and watch your CPU temperature. I've got a feeling you've got a cooling problem under stress.
