seti and linux

I just got linux-Red Hat 8.0- running on my machine last night.🙂 today I managed to get seti running.😀

this is my first linux try, so you might have to type(talk😛) very slowly. 😕

now then I need to find out a couple of things about the seti cli.

1) how to point seti to my queue.
2) how to set seti to work a specific cpu(dually)
yes I know these questions have been aswered before, but I didn't pay close attention 😱 b/c I always had my trusty setidriver for these things.(well to point it to my queue, this is my first dually(mp1200x2) also)

also-slightly less important right now, how can I monitor each cpu?

ok quick couple of answers to your questions..

1) start setiathome client with the -proxy <ip: Port> (no spaces) parameter (ie cd to the setiathome directory and run ./setiathome -proxy xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx: Port (no spaces)

2) you have to make a seperate directory and copy the setiathome binary into the new directory and run a new instance of the program with the paramter -cpu 1 to run it on a dual cpu machine.. (ie ./setiathome -proxy xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx: Port -cpu 1 )

to monitor progress.. you could do -verbose parameter... that will list the percentage completed while its running..

Hope this helps.. make sure the : and P has no spaces in it. i have to put a space in these instructions else the board thinks i'm trying to do a smiley 😉
