SETI and a 2nd PC

Can I simply move the SETI folder from my 2.4GHz rig to my other 2.5GHz rig and it will work fine, or do i have to set it up from scratch again?

/me scratches head...

I think you can just move it straight over.. assuming you're talking just the client. I know I had problems when I was also running SetiSpy with it[the CLI version] 'cuz that program also stored info on the type of cpu and L2 cache and so forth.. but just the SETI client should work fine; it would still be with the same email address that the work unit was configured with, but I can't think of any problems. 🙂

If you wanta run it on 2 PC's you should setup another client ,otherwise you'll end up doing the same WU twice & possibly only credit for 1!

Nice rigs btw😀

You can move the Seti folder to the other pc's c drive, but then delete folders "2" and above from within the Seti Folder. Do leave "1" and then run the driver. Then set up your cache in the driver again, and viola, no setup. "1" will be a duplicate unit though, but you don't have to do 1 or 2... 2... server not responding 1 or 2... 2... server not responding 😉

Nah....you need to reset BOTH clients....delete the user info stuff, and enter my email for team-tno.com
when you are prompted 😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀

Just kidding of course 🙂

I have my WU cache @ 40, is that too high?

When he said a SETI folder he was refering to the directory that SETI is in.

2million WU's refers to the number of WU's that Team Anandtech has completed ,for more info check out my sig🙂 ,as I think the SETI site is down atm🙁
