Seti acting strange

Last night I closed seti before I went to sleep, but went downstairs to get a drink and came back up, I noticed the little seti icon in my taskbar(next to the clock) and thought it was weird, since I knew I closed it..so I wave my mouse over it and it dissapears! I wake up, and do my regular stuff on the computer, close seti, go get something to eat and watch a movie or two, come back, and now there are 5 seti icons in the taskbar..I wave the mouse over all of them and they poof...now I know it's real..so I leave to wash some cars, and eat, which takes about 2 hours, come back and look at my monitor, there are 5 seti icons! Of course, I waved my mouse over them and they are all gone.

Is this some seti configuration to come on when i'm gone or something(but 5 times..?)

argh..seti is watching me! Twice I hit Post Message, and it said it cannot display this page..let's hope it works this time.

Hmm... which client version are you using, the GUI/screensaver version? or the CLI version with a WU-cacheing utility such as SETIDriver?

I was testing out the GUI screensaver version..I haven't used seti for a long time, and thought I would start running it again, so I downloaded it..

I was turning off seti so I could turn my computer off, it's hard to sleep with my delta..i'm back to using the CLI version again, though I can't seem to get it working properly..

I've seen this w multiple applications that put something in the systray, I don't think SETI is actually running 5 times. It's a bug w/in Winblows. D/l a program to watch your cpu utilization if you want to be sure...the surefire way is never to close SETI. 🙂

I'd say just to make sure, totally uninstall all traces of SETI on your system. Then run the CLI and SETI Driver. Links are in my help thread (sig).
