Hey,
Like the title says, I set up a network (Linksys 4 port switching router). One computer can access the other, but the one it's accessing can't access it.

I'm assuming this is a common problem? It says Network path not found in "My Network Places" (I'm using Windows XP Pro on both computers BTW).

They are both members of the same workgroup (Home).

It's probably a simple sulution but I'm just not the best at networking, but at least I'm trying to learn! :)

Thanks,
Justin Sampson

<< Thanks for the help but it turns out that I didn't have NetBIOS installed on one of the computers. :) >>

So one would guess that everything is working now, right?

What are your OS'es and what protocol are you using? NetBIOS is standard in Windows if you want to be able to share resources and connect via a PC name as opposed to an IP address (if using IP).

Right now 2 computers 98se and 98fe. I have TCP/IP set up to DHCP. Later I hope to add another 98ffe and a laptop with W2K. Still looking around for related info.

Also, I am not using a router... just a 4-port LAN modem (Eicon, diva). Both machines connect to internet thru a 128k ISDN line.

Will welcome any insite.
