I have lots of DivX video files, and I have heard about certain set top DVD Player that play DivX encoded video.

I was wondering if any one knows of such devices, and if any one has recomendations.

Thanks,

I would hold off until the next gen chips come out...there are just too many bugs for me to be happy with....it doesn't play a lot of my divx and xvid files (with or witout qpel) and it chokes on a few xvid files with ac3 sound. my friend works at divx.com as a hardware tester for dvd players and he said the systems he's testing now are much better than the ones currently on the market.

If you can find one

LITE-ON LVD-2001

Did all formats mentioned and even upsaled to 1080i. The component and DVI from this guy was awesome. Originally it went of 150 bones, but after a while it became scare. May be available somewhere, but at a price.

Again, this is the 2001 not the 2002.

about the philips one, i don't think it supports external subtitles if that matters to you.

Actually, I think I've read somewhere that the latest firmware upgrade for the Philips player does support external subtitles. Though, I've not tried it and you'd need to confirm it to make sure.
