The reality is the current administration and the radical fringe driving immigration policy in this administration would happily drive immigration of any form to as close to zero as they can get it. It isn't about enforcing laws, its about keeping out those think are undesirable. Same bullshit we've dealt with several times in the history of this country.

OK with #1 but it needs to include a substantial penalty/fine element to account for them breaking the law to begin with. The rest are fine and things I've long supported anyway. We should at least triple the existing immigration quotas and aggressively prosecute, seize any U.S. assets of, and speedily deport anyone who come illegally after that.

See that wasn't so hard. The only caveat I would have is that I don't think people who brought here as minors should be subjected to fines for the actions of their parents. Other than that yeah. The reality is I think immigration reform to most people looks like the list I put together. Its extremists that really hold it up from moving forward.

That's fine, but be aware that it's an administrative issue not a criminal one. That's why we have five year olds forced to represent themselves in the kangaroo immigration "courts".

Trust me I think your kids should be taken away if you immigrate illegally no matter what your race or country you came from. But don't worry they wouldn't be taken away for long as ideally we'd be able to deport you within days if not hours as we owe it to the children to be more responsible to them as a nation than their parents were to bring them here illegally in the first place.

As long as we're punishing administrative infractions, I think you should have your kids taken away if you lie on your financial disclosure form for security clearance forty times. And we might as well deport you too.

The reality is that past administrations (gop and dem) did not enforce immigration laws and allowed a huge number of illegal immigrants uncontrolled into the country and let them stay over the past 30+ years. It reached a boiling point for many voters and is one of the main reasons Trump was elected. If the problem had been properly handled years ago and not ignored we would not have the radical fringe driving immigration policy today. Too much, too late.

They would full on implement a massively negative immigration policy by getting rid of people they think never should have been here in the first place (black people, Muslims, Mexicans, Native Americans, many of the Asians - especially ones that came as refugees), making this the WASP utopia that many of them truly believe is America's destiny. According to them, it'd get rid of all poverty, crime (especially drugs, rape, and murder though), and would unleash the latent economic might and let America become the absolute dominant power of the Earth for a thousand years. Hmm, maybe I'm getting them confused with Hitler's ideals of the Third Reich. But then, its getting more and more difficult to tell the difference.
 
Arrest, try, and jail everyone who they catch trying to enter illegally? I wonder if anyone has figured out how much this is gonna cost? I mean if 38,000 people were caught last month alone, that would cost millions of dollars to run just that month's worth through the system. You're talking a hearing for everyone, then jail time for most I would imagine. Plus immigration courts are way behind as it is so most would have to be housed in detention facilities for months at a minimum.

Oh wait....I get it. We'll have build yet more prisons. Privately run prisons. So the US tax payer gets screwed while Session's crony friends get a shit ton of free slave labor.
