Jeffries pretty much owned him--basically reminding Sessions that in the past he prosecuted a police officer for perjury when he didn't recall something during testimony, and then corrected the record after the fact. Despite the correction, the officer was prosecuted for perjury. Sessions than recalled that case in 1998/1999 during the impeachment of Bill Clinton, saying that the President should not be held to a different standard than the officer.

Of course, Jeffries established a key track record of Sessions not recalling key contacts with Russian agents during earlier testimony in January and March, and later correcting/amending his recollection numerous times. So by Sessions' own reasoning, that would constitute perjury.

Of course, Sessions got hot under the collar and said that was unfair! And DeSantis mumbled something after Jeffries' time expired about "that didn't make sense, garbled the question, you did nothing wrong!"

Sessions got burned.

I love how he manages to pat himself on the back for "honesty" and length of "service" here and there. Careful there Jefferson, didn't Louis CK just get into trouble for that?

Since this is Stupid Watergate, I feel like the best way to handle this would be to pose simple questions to Sessions in quick succession followed by the main question and catch him in a lie...

"Is the sky blue?"
"Yes."
"Is water wet?"
"Yes."
"Am I a human being?"
"Yes."
"Is the sky green?"
"No"
"Did you assist the Trump campaign in colluding with Russia to win the 2016 election?"
"Yes... I mean no... I mean I do not recall... I mean, wait shuffles papers Can you repeat the question?"

Should'a had the Repubs removed from the panel and allow the Dems to have a nice friendly 48 hr. question and answer session with him complete with bare light bulb hanging overhead and a lie detector strapped to him.

Or better yet, hand him over to Trump's archenemy aka the CIA and let them handle the inquiry with no time limit.

Yeah, I know, it's a wet dream, but hey, if the goal really is to get at the truth of the matter and not some fake political tour de force performance replete with the usual grandstanding oratory, then having the Repubs (who are merely there to defend Sessions and kill the clock) out of the way on this is efficiency defined.
 
Looks like more folks are getting in on the bash fest. Sessions is like the pot calling the kettle black. This administration is the greatest $hit show on earth.😱
 
Can we really trust a guy with such a faulty memory? I mean he can’t recall something from last year? Maybe he needs to be checked out medically to confirm he’s fit to serve in that position.

In his defense his memory seems just fine about everything else. I’m sure it’s a coincidence.
