Like FaceBook or Skype asking for your e-mail info to look at your address book to find people on those services?

More & more services are asking this for convenience factor....

The say they never store your password.....But still.....

Hope I cleared up what I'm saying. I would not want to enter my e-mail password for facebook & such.

this is borderlining rocket science or brain surgery but you can always change your password after importing the contacts...

How safe and secure is it?

Are you fucking retarded or something?

I was just asking because it seems to be a trend with more & more services.

Give them access to your e-mail and they will import your contacts to see if there on that service. They claim to not store passwords....

Just posting this because think of how many people willfully do this.

I get crap every couple days from friends that were dumb enough to do this. Safe? Maybe, I'm sure there's some sort of privacy policy regarding your password... That doesn't mean they aren't going to spam the shit out of your contacts.

Personally, I prefer the convenience of paypal offering to verify my online bank account by giving them my password. They already had my Name, Age, Address, SSN, DOB... I figured hell, they already have everything else. I've also heard such great things about their honest employees that I decided if I was going to give anyone my online banking password, it would definitely be paypal.
