Service Question

Just have a question for those accounting people out there...

If you're a service provider, and a customer has a service paid through the 17th of January (meaning the "end date" of the service is the 17th), does that mean its active through 11:59 PM that night (one minute before the 18th), or does that mean it ends at midnight the morning of the 17th?

Paid through the end of the 17th, otherwise, the ending date would be the 16th.
