Server Side includes protection?

How can i password protect certain pages using server side includes?
The server that I'm using is Solaris based, only accepts SSIs, and doesn't accept .htaccess?

What should I do? Any recommendations?

Does the server support PHP? You can do authentication using headers, check the PHP manual.

No, the server does not accept PHP, ASP, CGI, ...
Only SSIs - I have no clue what to do.

Well, I can't think of any way to do it. As far as I know you must use some type of scripting to password just certain files in a site. If you want to pw protect the whole site then you could do that with directory permissions on the server.

Otherwise you are out of luck. Look for new web hosting service that supports some kind of scripting.
