The one summer I worked at an IT department, and I practically held my breath whenever I had to go into the server room; place was noisy, confined, and filled with computer "exhaust". I kept those sessions to half an hour or less at a time.

as much as people who call on speakerphone.

Was one of my pet peeves when I did support. The following always got them to use the receiver though:

Me: "Support"
Client: "Hi, I'm having a problem with X"
Me: "Hello? hello? I guess they hung up"
Client: "No! No! I'm here" /picks up receiver
Me: "Ah, now I can hear you"

that is only a problem in well maintained server rooms. Most are hot as hell and stuffy.

LOL, my wife has some custom molded ones - she's an sound recordist/audio engineer. I've been tempted by myself some as well.

Jeans and a sports sweatshirt are keeping me warm. They toned down the AC since we are technically the only people in the building for the next 2 weeks. D:

She is a free lance audio recordist - she mostly does location sound. She works for a couple of different production companies and mostly works industrial videos and has been doing some low budget film work.
