Damn, power supply just took a crap. Was just adding two new HDs and this POS power supply is now dead. Well, guess it has put in its time. Has been running 24X7 for basically 9 years now.

Only thing that really sucks, is there are no local computer shops to get a replacement. :(

That's where I got this sweet PS.

I'm thinking I'll probably just buy a whole new case/PSU setup. Just wish I had it now, because the downtime is going to kill me.

don't put all your eggs in one basket.

I know a lot of us do that, but it's rather risky, especially if there is a business use for any data

why a new case? what's wrong with the old one?

It's actually MORE effort to buy a new case and psu, remove motherboard and all accessories from the old one and place all your old stuff in new case.

Easier to simply replace the PSU.

Any plans on donating an old case to someone who can't afford a new one? ^^;

What software do you use for automated backups?

I hope you got redundant PSU's this time around. Those things are life savers.

windows is the easiest;)

And can do incrementals on a schedule, then just rsync it off to your *nix box with file pooling :)

No reason to be shocked Zim. This setup has worked great for me for years. The damn PSU kills me though.

I guess you subscribe to the old, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it," rule minendo :eek: I'm the same way, but for some reason, I always thought you'd be running the latest CPU's.
