Couldnt you just use something like this then as example?

It would fit the same chassis sizes and got ECC and VT-X.
this is much better
a true xeon at 17 watt

with hyperthreading thus 4 threads the ones listed have 2
only one cpu supports more memory than the 32gb from the e3
