Server 2008 Standard vs. Home

Are there any differences between Windows Server 2008 Standard and Windows Home Server 2008??? I downloaded Server 2008 (Standard/Enterprise/Datacenter) from MSDN that earlier this year, thinking it was Home.

They aren't even close to being the same product. Windows Home Server is based on Windows Server 2003 with some server components stripped out and the "Home Server" application added in.

What are you going to be doing with it?

I just switched to using Server 2008 as a workstation to try it out. Windows Home Server is made more for an entertainment, storage, backup kind of thing. HP noticeably having the all-around solution implementing Windows Home Server.

As RebateMonger said, they are completely different products.

just playin around with it for now, eventually will use it for a file server. but from what ive seen of Home Server they seem just alike, just from what ive seen.
