Server 2008 on desktop

I'm having some issues with my Windows 7 install and have considered reformatting. Has anyone tried running Server 2008 and what gotchas did you run into? I would like to use the native Hyper V application mainly.

I have installed 2008 R2 successfully on an HP desktop and it's really had no major issues. it did take a little while to get the right NIC drivers but that's all i could think of. It works nicely for a little hyper v test env. that I have set up.

No issues other than some software will recognize it as a server OS and not install unless you buy the enterprise version... i.e, no free AVG and such.

Most win 7 drivers work fine although some may again have issues with it being a server OS.

Actually found that with Mozy. If you run a server OS, they make you buy the business version of their softare. Went from $9.99 to $70 per month for the same exact service.
