I reloaded my home server 2008 the other day. configure it to do folder redirection through group policy. I'm having a hard time getting my laptop and desktop to apply the folder redirection policy. This is the following error im getting in the event viewer Both systems are running windows vista ultimate

Failed to apply policy and redirect folder "Documents" to "\\SONOMA\users\folder redirection\chris\My Documents".
Redirection options=80009211.
The following error occurred: "Can not create folder "\\SONOMA\users\folder redirection\chris\My Documents"".
Error details: "Access is denied.

the user folder. i set the sharing permissions and ntfs permissions to full control for domain users. Still would get the access is denied. I also made my account a domain admin account, and I still get the access is denied error. Weird thing is, I can browse to the folder just fine by typing in \\sonoma\user in windows explorer and browsing to it by network icon as well. I can copy files to the folder no problem. Not sure why I would be getting the acccess is denied error. the folder redirection was working just fine before I reloaded my server. any suggestions?

Here's the SBS 2003 share and security permissions for its redirected User folders. I don't have an SBS 2008 box up at this moment to see what settings it uses.

Share Permissions:
Domain Admins - Full Control
Domain Users - Full Control
Folder Operators - Full Control

Security Permissions:
Domain Admins - Full Control
Domain Users - Full Control (actually, the permissions are NOT Full Control, but if you don't care who can access those folders, then Full Control will work)
System - Full Control
Folder Operators - Full Control

I just tried it a few mins ago, and the folder redirection still isnt working, and event viewer is still showing the same error. Cant figure it out for the life of me. Even with my user account being given domain admin privileges, it wont work.

werid, when i logged onto my domain user account this morning, out of no where, the folder redirection decided it wanted to work today. I didnt make any changes since yesterday when it wasn;t working at all

In my search, I'd read of folder redirection implementation being delayed an hour or so. Presumably, Group Policy delays.
