Server 08 as a desktop Client

Well, my two year old XP install finally needs a cleansing and I was looking for some opinions. I d'led sever 08 for free from dreamspark, and I was wondering if I could use it like a Vista install? I haven't really worked with Vista except for a home install on my laptop, and although it seems slow with continuous HD thrashing, I haven't had any problems. So my two options are

1. Do a clean install of XP
2. Install Server 08 and run it in place of Vista.

Thoughts, experiences? The box is mainly used for office programs, a little video editing, and games.
 
I'm interested in this too. I think my only gripe would be the lack of Media Center, although if truly runs snappier than Vista I could compensate.

I downloaded it too from dreamspark and from my google searches i found that. 1. People like to call it vista w sp1 and 2. Not all games and programs work on it... so i decided not to install it. Also i found some benchmarks and it was no faster than vista in games.

Server is for servers just use vista.

Oh also i ran into some sites where people couldnt get certain drivers to work...

here is nice guide though if you wanna try the conversion... im still thinking about it lol. I prob will just install sp2 for vista and stick with that 🙂
