Hey all, I need some help from you guys. I'm trying to run an FTP server using Serv-U FTP (great program) on my Windows XP client machine. I have a Server/client network setup with Windows 2000 server acting as a PDC and it also runs as my Internet Connection Sharing router. I have cable modem with 2 nics in the server. I've tried fowarding the port 6699 (it's what I use instead of 21) to my client computer. I can't get it to work for some reason. I checked Microsofts knowledgebase and all they told me was to setup proxy server. Am I missing something? Anyone have a similar setup and got it to work?? Thanks a million..

I'd be interested to know too. Although, my guess is your cable Internet provider blocks FTP servers, but you say you are using 6699, so I`m really not sure.

You have obviously specifed port 6699 in Serv-U? Is Serv-U completely compatible with XP?

Port 20 is defined as "ftp-info" and port 21 carries the actual connection...try forwarding port 20 to your client machine as well and see how that flies?
