Seriously, where ARE all the hurricanes?

I'm not complaining, but I AM seriously wondering why Mother Nature is messing with us right now.

A year ago at this time, Hurricane Rita was about to strike the gulf-coast region, but this year, we're getting lucky with nothing but wimpy, stay-in-the Atlantic storms. We've had less than half the number of storms this year than what we had last year.

Another victim of the radical, fear mongering, environmental movement.

"2005 was only the beginning!" Whatever. It's kind of hard to say that last year, as bad as it was, was even a record. We've only had satellite weather monitoring in the Atlantic since the early 70's. Prior to that, who knows how many 'canes went unreported, just spinning around in the middle of nowhere.
