seriously sick of "ghetto" culture

i hope those two kids don't make it past the age of 16. worthless. props to the boy that tried stopping them. what the fuck makes a kid want to do that?

It's easy to feel all self righteous when you grew up in an environment that encourages doing the right thing. This kid went against the grain, and put himself at great risk to do the right thing. You could not possibly relate to what this kid did.

Society is to blame actually. Children are a reflection of the society in which they are raised. and they were just kids, none had hit puberty.

I wasn't really afraid, just bemused. However, if they had been just two years older, it could have been very very bad.

but I think this shows the importance of moral instruction in children.
 
This story is sad. Those two kids should have shopping carts dropped on them from 50 feet. 18 months is a non-secure juvenile facility is just absurd.

This isn't "ghetto culture". This is kids with no regard for actions and consequences. The mediocre punishment just goes to reinforce that.

To the kid who tried help, kudos. Wish it worked out differently..
 
Hopefully the two young thugs and those who harrass and bully the kid for being a 'snitch' will be killed in a gang war after they get out, scum like that do not deserve to live and deserve what they get from their 'ghetto' culture. It's best if the thugs just all killed each other off.

You're assuming I did grow up like that. Bad assumption :awe:

I went to a private catholic school where I was the one who didn't belong, not being catholic. I can seem to remember the one time I tried to do something right, I was beaten down for it. From that point on, I just kept my mouth shut, hoping to not be noticed. It's later in life that I have...shed most of my upbringing. I still have more to rid myself of. It's me looking at myself in a mirror, and evaluating myself and my beliefs.

The death of the ghetto culture - which damn well includes white trash, if you want to talk about "racism" - has to begin with people agreeing that it's bad. The kid who reported his friends has more courage than I ever did, and certainly has a stronger moral compass than most adults do. It's a crying shame he's had to move and everything. I hope this doesn't change him, I hope he continues down the path he's on.

Like I tell everyone, try living in a big city and NOT become at the very least prejudice against others. Take Houston for example: HUGE melting pot with tons of stereotypical cultures and races.

It's just human nature. Fight or flight, human race's IFF if you will. If people want to associate themselves with a stereotype then they should be willing to accept the consequences to go with it.

But at the same time you should leave the door open for personal experience with said persons and not just write them off based on prejudice without even knowing them.
 
i agree. ghetto culture and stupid ass rap music that these people listen to really bringing down this country as a whole.

This. I wasn't sure why this article kept calling them thugs either. It's stupid out of control kids doing a really stupid thing. I'm sure this kind of stuff happens from all kinds of kids, not just "ghetto" kids.

You are trying to be PC and seem so scared to tell the truth that it distorts your reality. American Ghetto Culture breeds criminals. It's a simple fact. It has nothing to do with black/brown/white/yellow whatever. It has to do with subsets of society wanting to be different and wanting a different set of rules, thus they make up retarded codes that make them think they are cool. Prison culture translated into ghetto culture, and why do ghetto thugs think waling around with their pants hanging around their thighs is cool? They're advertising they are the prison bitch.

Society isn't to blame as a whole, only subsets of society, IE ghetto culture. Just like the religious extermists subset is to blame for pushing "intelligent design". Or do you paint everything with such a large brush, because I need my house painted.

They were called a thug because it "fits" the idea of what the average idiot believe. Even if it's not something a thug would do. A perfect example a TV station news program in LA ran a story back when Kid Rock got in a fight with a bouncer at a strip bar and they commented "rapper Kid Rock involved in violent scuffle" but down the road when he donated a bunch of computers to an elementary school in Detroit they said "rock star Kid Rock makes big donation to the children of Detroit"
