My buddy who goes to school here in VT, hes from NJ, wanted me to go with him to montreal last weekend. I had to work so I told him no thanks, he went anyway. They went to the casino, drove back to there hotel and parked the truck in the lot. Someone fvcking smashed out the window and stole it. They also managed to rack up 25K (max) on his parents emergency credit card that was in the truck. So basically hes out 60K total betwewen the card and truck. The french police are worthless and his insurance isn't being helpful. I was going to head up there maybe next weekend, but when I heard about this, theres no way I am going unless its in a pinto.
 
Ya, it's because he was in Canada.... rrright.

Look at the American crime rates and get back to me.

Edit: Also, your friend is an idiot for leaving his CC in the truck.
 
He didn't have insurance on a $35k truck and he left a card with a 25k limit sitting in the truck? Your friend doesn't sound very smart.

It happened to my friend last week right here in London.

How about you visit Ontario and have a good time?
 
I understand your friend's intention of leaving a CC out of the casino as sometimes the temptation is just too great. I've done it many times myself and kick myself in the ass for it. It's rather unfortunate the things happened the way it did. He couldn't have known.

But you blaming Canada for his misfortunate? He was simply at the wrong place at the wrong time. That's there's all to it.
 
I am not blaming canada, I just needed somewhere to vent and choose the entire country. He said that the credit cards shouldnt be that much of a problem and his parents lawyers are dealing with insurance. All I know is that I wont be taking my car up there anytime soon. Acura + Vermont Plates = Gone in 60 seconds.

Your friend should have known better than to leave anything valuable in the car, especially in a foreign country. Hopefully you are much smarter than him...

wow...people are fairly hostile here...he is just venting. I am sorry to hear about your friend...this kind of stuff happens everywhere of course. The only thing that would really upset me is that the Canadian Police aren't doing anything to help. If this were a stolen vehicle in MD, I know some guy would be caught quite quickly (at least I hope🙂). GL clearing things with insurance and Canadian Police...generally, Canada is fairly safe, so I am sorry this had to happen to you🙁

He was driving a truck. A truck is like gold in Canada. Your Acura isn't going to go through any snow banks....
