Pour some coke into a glass and cover it up except for a minimal gap. You really need to have little air in the glass in order to do it the correct way. Let it sit out a day or two. You will see a hard layer of scum form that looks exactly like that.

I'd think you got some soda scum from the mixing pond at the soda farm.

That's just gross, it may be an old cola, what'd the date on the can say? I took a coke sample, kept it in a perscription bottle for three yeras, and when i oppended it up after those many years(i forgot about ti) there was something "living" in there that looked alot like what your pictures were of....heh
