That's One Big Baby

An eight-month-old baby boy in Jilin, Northeast China has tipped the scales at over three stone.

Weighing 18.8 kg (41 pounds) and measuring 78 centimeters in height, he was born with a normal birth weight of 3.3 kg (7 pounds 4 oz).

However, he starting putting on extra weight when he was one month old, according to his parents.

His mother nurses him more than 20 times a day because he often feels hungry. Because of his obesity, he is unable to crawl or stand.

Shouldn't the title be "Seriously kid, cover up the nipple"?

Yeah, tried thinking of some good ones like that, the bottle one seemed to work the best. I knew someone would nitpick that point 😛

This problem has been featured on so many TV shows it's pathetic (the people anyways). The mom gets the "mother bear instinct" and has to feed her child. I can understand that, but when the parents (there was once case when both the parents were fitness instructors) claim they "didn't notice" that their kid was getting fat when said kid is obviously obese, it get pretty sad. HTF do you not notice something like that? Granted, I'm not a parent, but I'd like to think sense overrules instinct when it comes to health. Especially with all the improved knowledge about health that we have today. *sigh*

My daughter weighed 30+lbs at that age, and I thought she was fat. But both my kids are big and so am I, so there was never any concern from the doctors...but that kid is freaking huge.

Man, I'd hate to be changing diapers on that kid, he probably dumps loads by the wheelbarrow, not the mention having to deal with diapers the size of bedsheets.

Any chance this is some sort of weird medical condition? I don't understand how an 8 month old baby could be that huge without some sort of... something.

He is, with his mouth, for about 33 hours a day, by the looks of him.

😕

(Humor, indicating that the kid would need to be at the nipple for more time than there is during a day, in order to get that fat.)

Really though, what the heck are they feeding him?
