Seriously for those who've lined up for BF sales

can somebody with experience shed some light on this? I've heard 2-3 hours ahead of time and I've heard vouchers for items and such.

Say they open at 6am. 4a.m.? 5am? 3a.m.? Camp out like Star Wars geeks a.m.?

Ok, I'm in Brooklyn Center, MN. I want in on either Best Buy/WalMart/Circuit City laptop. Anybody from this area have any experiences?

Best Buy/CC you need to be in line at least the night before. With how popular BF is now-a-days I would say for just about any store you need to be in line at least 4 hours before opening. Luckily I work the system and buy all beforehand and use resources to pricematch.

Hook me up!

Depends on the store and location. There has to be a huge savings on an item I want before I'll wait in line for hours. (My time has value to me.)
Last year at Staples, I showed up 15 minutes before they opened. No one was in line yet, but some people were waiting in cars. After 2 or 3 people walked up to the door, my wife and I got out and joined the line. Once we entered, we were each in charge of getting certain items and meeting back at the register. If we walked by an item that the other was supposed to get, we'd get it anyway. As they quickly sold out of most items we wanted (but we got every one of them) it proved to be a good strategy. We simply put back the duplicates and someone else grabbed them. It's taken several years to get my wife to realize that we don't have to be constantly next to each other while shopping.

Just show up at the last minute and caugh like crazy like ur about to die. Then keep repeating "I dunno whats wrong with me I just got back from China and my throat hurts like crazy now"

Wonder if I could pay someone to do it for me?

What would be the point? Your savings would be eroded - seriously.

I was kidding. 😛

But seriously, I don't wanna wait and get nothing. Blah. This'll be my first time doing waiting in line for a BF sale.

What would you be waiting in line to get?

I'm thinking about the laptop at BB for $379... but don't want to wait in line for 4+ hours!

I've shown up at Office Depot several hours after they opened, and had no problem buying BF "super hot" deals. Guess it depends on the geograpic area. BB usually runs through a lot of their super-sale items, but last year, before noon, they still had plenty of the 15-inch LCDs that were advertised.

While your waiting in line at 1am just think of me sleeping in my nice warm bed, I'll never understand the desire to wait in a parking lot for hours on end to save a few hundred in the absolute best case on something I really don't need. Haven't I seen Dell laptops for 600 with those coupons, thats only 220 more than the BF laptops and I bet is better specs and better customer service. Just my opinion.

what exactly is it that u want? if u r going for the cheap computers or laptops, i suggest u get tehre 3am latest. i was there at 2am last year and even tho i was early... with the growing popularity of BF, there can only be more competition. however, like shadowknight said... it depends on ur area (and how crazy the ppl are).

last year, a guy in line told me that he called the store the day before and asked how many laptops they had. the store i was at had 43. when i got there at 2am, i was the 8th person in line who wanted the laptop. i could safely say that ppl who got the to store at 3:30am still were able to get a laptop. different stores have different stock of items so.... u may want to see if u can call up and get them to tell u how many laptops they have.

The one time I went and camped out before (at a Best Buy), I met a few friends at 11pm and they were holding a place for me at the very front of the line, they'd probably been there 15-30 minutes before I got there. There were already at least 10 other people there at that point.

Edit: This was for a 6am opening time 😛 (and it was two years ago) - by the time the store opened, the line was several hundred feet long, I'd say.

ppl get nutty when they get inside the store. i feel bad for the ppl working there... getting pulled in every direction by ragin' shoppers.

You could spend 5 hours in line at an urban location, or spend an hour at a really remote one.
Surburn malls have 1 or 2 people in line.
