I don't see what's so dumb. I didn't feel like editing my original post to fit the rest of the stuff in; it'd be too long. Any moron who has the nerve to make something like that doesn't deserve to even be classified as a human being.

Hmmm...I think it's probably too soon for most people to laugh at it, as it's still kind of inappropriate. In 50-100 years, though, I bet you'd get a lot more people laughing (laughing uneasily - they won't admit it's very funny, but they'll still laugh 😉 )

And as for the post about Al Qaeda vs Nazi vs etc.... yeah, militarily, they are probably nothing compared to our enemies of the past. But at the same time - there's something to be said for suicidal religious zealots. They may not have the firepower like the Japanese did to decimate our armed forces, but they can cause massive unrest by attacking civilians (as we obviously saw on 9/11), and it's hard for our country to quell unrest without restricting the freedoms this country is built upon (which we are seeing today - many conflicts regarding civil liberties).

Rather insensitive I would say. I guess maybe it bothers me because my father died in a plane crash. Jokes about 9-11 and other large losses of life are not funny. On the other hand you have the right to do whatever you want and post it on the internet. That is freedom.

This is not the first time I have seen 9-11 used in a joking manner. I knew a guy that would respond to jokes by saying "that was about as funny as 9-11" or "that was as funny as flight 93." The guy didn't realize that I didn't find that to be comical because of the way my father died. I promptly told him to STFU.

What Moonbeam said was dead on. That picture is just an attempt at dark humor. Emotionally it might not invoke a response to some people. I must just be different.

IMHO, Pearl Harbor had a different effect because it was against a military target, not a civilian one. Blood is blood, but there tend to be rules of war that "civilized" countries abide by, and Pearl Harbor could be seen as less atrocious than Nagasaki/Hiroshima due to it's intent not being to slaughter civilians, but rather to cripple the military. Of course, had not we retaliated who knows how many more lives would have been lost, it's really a circular argument.

That photoshop on the other hand, was in obvious poor taste and lacked anything remotely funny to boot. Are you really that desperate for attention?
