Serious XP333-R Stability Problems--Sound related? Please help!

Here is my problem: Everytime I run a game, new or old, the game will eventually crash, or freeze my system. Before it does so, the sound will start annoyingly repeating and skipping, until it reaches a constant "RRR-RRR-RRR-RRR", at that point its crashing time.

The only reason i got this new system and motherboard was to play video games! Please help!

My setup:
Iwill XP333-R latest bios update installed
XP 1600 processor
256 mb Crucial memory
300 watt (non-amd recommended powersupply--problem there?)
40gig GXP IBM hard drive
Creative TNT blaster (reall old)
Onboard sound C-MEDIA
SCSI card, Lan card.

Please help!

This may not be easy to diagnose. Here are some suggestions:

Check for IRQ conflicts.

Load the newest sound driver if you don't already have it.

Load the newest version of DirectX if you don't already have it.

Follow the recommendations in the Microsoft Sound Troubleshooter.

Follow the recommendations in this Microsoft Knowledgebase article.

If all else fails, you might try disabling the onboard sound and seeing whether you get better results from a PCI sound card. Here is an inexpensive sound card that won't set you back too much if it doesn't work for you. I don't know anything about that sound card, though, so it may not "do you right".

have you updated the latest chipset drivers available here? grab the northbridge and the m1535d+ southbridge, also what scsi card are you running? hav eyou tried a bios flash on that? running latest drivers?
