Methinks the little people will always be behind in technology.

Your screen resolution isn't the same as texture resolution.

Thats true, but totally irrelevant.
When we call something "HD" we mean its displaying at a resolution of 720p or 1080i or 1080p. I'm not sure if theres a resolution of 720i.
I dont even know what the highest res texture is in Serious Sam. Though it would be easy to find out. That game was awesome about letting you customize EVERY freaking thing in the graphics and actually telling you about them.

I love Serious Sam.

Oh man you were being serious :facepalm;

Where have you been in the last few years? HD has become a marketing term and no longer just means higher resolution.

I can convert a video captured on my cell phone from 320x240 pixels to 1280x960 but that doesn't suddenly make it "HD".

Au Contraire. The video IS HD, but its image quality has not been increased because all you did was enlarge and interpolate.
ALL HD MEANS: Is its displayed at a resolution of 720p or 1080i or 1080p. Image quality has nothing to do with it. You are never guaranteed any particular image quality, mostly because such a thing cant be easily measured with numbers.
This is a concept I have tried to explain to Blu-ray fanboys for years, and they either cant get it, or dont get it.
The only promise you have with blu-ray is it will be displayed at 1080p. There are never any promises about higher image quality. If you do get higher image quality (like when they do an excellent film transfer) than thats a big, fat AWESOME!
But its not guaranteed.

As far as all you assholes thinking I am wrong in this situation: I cant possibly be wrong, because there is no right. According to you guys HD doesnt actually mean a goddamn thing.
Your being correct in this thread is just your bullshit arrogance that probably has a lot more to do with the shitty way your parents raised you than the technical specifics of HD.

Thank you and good bye. I'll now head over to P&N and see if I can find some intelligent conversation.

I must have had you confused with someone else before. I thought "shortylickens" was an intelligent poster, but now I realize that you are extremely immature and obviously not the person I thought you were.

I was simply trying to help show you your errors in thought, and you explode like a child with your tantrum and personal insults.

I'd laugh, but you really are quite a sad person.

HD does not just mean what resolution your screen is at. Please stop with the nonsense. The fact that you bother going into P&N proves you can't ever be right.

Clearly he has always had HD audio because he plays games at high resolutions.

...You're kidding, right? High Definition is just a marketing term to say that the resolution is high. "High resolution" a is relative term. Remember, the Sega Genesis featured "High Definition Graphics." ;)

up for preorder sale at 17.99 over at steam. i still have my CD somewhere, they should really considering giving discount to owners of the original game.

Why? The originals were only $20 when they came out, which was unheard of for new games like this. $20 is lunch money.

Is it really? I am SO on it...

I'm actually glad that it's exactly the same as the old game -- it's great to see an awesome game refreshed, but otherwise left alone.

yeah because everyone is as rich as you...

Maybe you should go buy a new console game instead.

Oh wait, they're $60.
