Serious Sam 2 Due in September

One more win for Nvidia marking machine
THE GAME built by Croatians, Serious Sam 2, and that we played back at Geforce 7800 GTX launch is scheduled to be released sometime in late September time for both the Xbox one and the PC platforms.

Nvidia's great marketing machine managed to grab this game on board on its "The Way It's Meant To Be Played" (TWIMTBP) marketing programme. We know that this makes both Croteam and Nvidia very happy and we know that the companies like to work with each other. Nvidia's developer relations team turns to be very helpful . . .

. . . we know that Nvidia will help Croteam and its publisher to do a proper marketing spiel with the game.

It's interesting that this comes just months after ATI showed the press some models using 3Dc developed by Croteam. 3Dc is an ATI marchitecture, implemented in X850, that provides higher level or details as it?s a texture compression hardware algorithm that is suppose to provide better looking and higher detail textures.

Wait, so is 3Dc ATi or what? I thought it was an open standard....

Oh, and does the 7800 have it?

WooHoo the original was one of the funnest games. First in a long time I stayed up all night and played to the end.

It was downright fun.

The original was awesome..

I saw screens of the new engine and it wasn't THAT impressive.. Gameplay should kick ass though!

😀

If it looks as good as the last one I dont care. It was the gameplay that made it all worth while. You never stand long enough to enjoy the scenery.

All those frogs man that was neat.
The Bosses were huge and took a long time to wipe out. You were tired at the end of one.
Plus it was fast paced too yet with open areas.

Makes me want to go back and play it again.

On a comical note ATI will probably voucher Duke Nukem Forever which will release sometime in 2010 but vouchers will arrive with the cards in September of 2005.

So im assuming that serious sam: The second encounter wasnt serious sam 2, companys should get better at naming things.

Well, the first one was called SS: The 1st Encounter . . . 😛
pretty logical for the continuation to be called the 2nd Encounter and . . .

ta da . . .

Serious Sam 2. 😉

You KNOW that ATI logo will go . . . probably replaced by something in green . . . 😀

You can be CERTAIN it will be optimized for nVidia cards.

And didn't Serious Sam 1st and 2nd Support TrueForm? . . . one of the very few games to do so [for ati].

Speaking of Duke Nukem ForNever, i believe there is a inside joke at the beginning of the 2nd where Sam references the Duke as 'taking forever'. 😛

i'm really looking forward to this game . . . . you won't need a 7800 to enjoy this game.
