Serious Router Help needed

Hey guys,

I have only posted in here a few times well i am having some serious problems. my roommate and i got cable internet from mediacom with only one ip address. i got a router a linksys ( BEFSR41 EtherFast Cable/DSL Router). The problem I am having is that I cant get the internet to work on her computer but it works fine on mine. I don't really know how to set it up. I mean i know how to get into the configuration but i cant get hers going at all. It sucks can anyone help???? I would really appreciate it. I am getting frustrated, I am sure there are some geniouses out there

You should post this in the Networking Forum. You'll get more help over there. And tell them what OS you are using too.
 
Make sure that the her computer is setup to automatically grab an IP address from the router. Also make sure her MAC isn't being filtered out on the router (if MAC filtering is enabled).

You should go to the command prompt and type "ipconfig" and tell us what the IP address is. It should start with a 192.168.x.x
 
Ok I will move this post to the network forum , sorry. My ip address is 192.168.1.1 and am using xp professional edition we both are
