You have what, 2 months left? Not much you can do at this point. My only suggestion is to make him want to not live in the house with the rest of you like other people have suggested.

I'm pretty sure if I split rent with the OP I would try to kick his ass out too just for being such a dumbass about everything.

"Yea I went to wal-mart and bought $45 of toiletries where'd they go? oh you stole them from my room? cool bro lets watch a movie and make fun of Tom."

Or whatever it is you tards do.

I fucking hate how ATOT is now a breeding ground for internet tough guys like yourself.

First of all, as roommates/best friends, we share each others stuff, including clothes. I wouldn't be even remotely upset if one of my best friends went into my room to borrow a shirt. The problem erupted when Tom began lying about it, not returning things, etc. It was then when we told him it was not alright, but the behavior continued, leading me to this post.

I'm concerned about getting him removed from the lease because the lease says we are held responsible for full payment of rent. I cannot afford to pay his share of the rent, even if its split among the remaining 5. I'm not sure what happens in cases like this...

Did you ever see that movie Seven where that one guy is tied to a bed for like a year or something? Just do that. Tie him down, keep him injected with heroin so he's always sedated, pawn the shit in his room and use the money to pay his share of the rent.

When it's eviction time, he goes into HARDCORE heroin withdrawal. Nobody believes he was tied down because he was addicted to heroin that whole time and sounds like he's making shit up, pawning shit is what heroin junkies do, and mysteriously vanishing for 2 months is also something heroin junkies do.

This pretty much says it all. Tom is a screw up, your 'friends' are a screw up and, you are a screw up. The only positive thing to come out of this is a learning experience IF, you learn from it. I foresee a few more before you have any hope of becoming an adult.

WTF...why not just jump straight to some KCN you fucking lunatic?
Um because murder is illegal?!!?!

OP should buy a fuckload of ketamine. Put some huge lines down and tell the room mate it's cocaine. When he goes into a deep sleep, strip him down completely naked and pull him out into the lobby of the apartment building. Call the police to report a naked man sleeping in the lobby. Update ATOT as it happens.

Yes you can, you just don't want to make the necessary sacrifices, i.e., some combo of earning a little more with a student job and/or spending a little less on beer, etc. temporarily while you and your four other roomies look for a replacement.

Actions have consequences, this is part and parcel of the adult world of signing leases, etc.

It's time for you to (reluctantly) grow up a bit and realize that your action of not more closely vetting this druggie before having him move him now has this consequence.

Not trying to be harsh, but you know what you need to do. You just have not yet accepted that you need to do it.

Dude most of what you suggest is illegal. That's why I was being facetious.

Replacing someone's drugs with other drugs is bad, mmkay. Doing other petty shit suggested above is illegal, mmkay.

These are probably just a bunch of potheads using another's drug use as an excuse.

QFT...being they are sharing clothing though is a bit scary.

How about skipping weed a bit while you look for a new roomie?

It's a bit of a stretch to call a group of kids who occasionally smoke weed a bunch of druggies. We're all on the right path in life regardless.

Not wanting to live with him is fine but I certainly hope that you are not just kicking him out to the streets and cutting him off when this guy is obviously in most need from his own fraternity brothers
What kind of screwed up fraternity is this

No. He has been living at our fraternity. We'd like to pursue getting him to counseling, but at this point we want him out from under our roof first.

The usual sort. Everything is fine until real trouble threatens then, it's huddle around the people, or sons of former members, who might actually be able to help your career while feeding the rest to the wolves.

druggies...

You've caught him stealing from you numerous times...and you still haven't kicked his ass? OR kicked him out?

Sounds to me like you're getting just what you've asked for.
This. The OP and the rest are hamstrung by their collective guilt over their own past indiscretions.
Either grow a set and tell him to GTFO, or expect more chaos.
Know when to say "WHEN."
The more you know.
