Serious problem with Divx 5 and Windows XP Pro

I bought Windows XP Pro for the increased stability. Well here is my BIGGEST problem. When ever I play a movie with any player Windows crashes when playing Divx movies. This is really really pissing me off. Ive done numerous installs and each results in Divx messing my system up. Please help me. My sig has a complete h/w list.

The problem is probably a hardware conflict... I had DivX 5 running fine in WinXP Pro on my ATI Radeon 7500 using the ATI software until I upgraded.

Well I'm using the software that came with the card. Maybe it's my AGP slot? I'm having problems when restarting. When I power up my monitor light turns to amber and does not power up. I have to turn on the UPS then push the power button really really quick to get the monitor to power up. I've already tried using another card but I have the same problem, I've also tried a different power cable and UPS. Same problem.
