Before you answer, please take this question seriously, we don't need any bashing of immature responses in this thread. If you feel to have the need to be an a-hole, do it elsewhere.

How would you react if a person of the same sex is showing interest/hitting on you?

EDIT: Ok, now for the twist. What if the person is a friend? A friend that you've known for a long time, and just recently "came out", would you still be friend then? Would your activities together remains the same?

I'd politely explain to them that I don't go that way, and thank them for the complement. I've done this a few times before. It's really no big deal.

It seems to me it's only a big deal to those who are insecure with their sexuality, or are insecure with how others perceive their sexuality.

If they came right out and asked me out, I'd tell them I don't swing that way.

Otherwise, I'd just ignore it.

If it's a co-worker and they're making improper jokes/innuendo/touching/etc., I'd contact HR and file a sexual harrassment complaint if they wouldn't stop when I told them to.

Would you do this if a girl you were not attracted to at all hit on you? If not, what is the difference?

Other than the typo :)P), I am in complete agreement here. Some of us in the 'real world' have to deal with this occasionally, and that is the best way.

Depends on what he looked like... But I'm gay, so your question doesn't really fit me.

First off, I'd be polite about it, but I'd inform him that I'm not gay, nor am I interested in being so. I wouldn't make a big deal about it actually.

Seriously.

Why risk the repercussions of that? If you're that paranoid, just cork your butt when you're around him.

Heck no! What's the difference??? What's the difference??? You have to ask that? There's a HUGE difference.

If it were an unattractive woman, I wouldn't feel disgusted. Heck, I might engage her in conversation. But if she asked me to dance, I'd probably refuse politely.

the difference is that an unattractive girl is still a girl, which is completely different from homosexuality.
