Dear friends,
I believe the world is headed towards a major racial conflict/crisis. It might not necessarily be a war, it might not even be that bloody, and it might not occur in our lifetimes. However, I am convinced that racial tensions are now reaching absolutely unprecedented levels for several reasons, including the spread of electronic communication systems.
100 years ago, extreme racism was very common, but it did not typically create global tensions because it was usually confined to limited incidents- in a boardroom, on the street in a random town, during a job interview.
My own grandfather, of Italian extraction, was told in 1938 to change his last name or Western Union would not hire him as a station watch manager. He never told anyone about it until 1990.
However, in this day and age-- we hear about EVERY LITTLE incident anywhere in the world. Maybe this is good--because it makes racism hard to hide--- but the consequences might be catastrophic. As people become more and more convinced of Jewish Conspiracy, Islamic Jihad, Mexican Criminality, White Bigotry, et al. people become jaded, angry and fearful.
This anger and fear, I believe, will only lead to MORE racism-- and it will escalate until we face a "global" tower of Babel, where each group tries to splinter off-- only in the day of jet travel-- there will be no where to go.
Thus, tension will only rise until there is a really SERIOUS problem somewhere (everywhere?)
