Hi new to the forums and i need some help please

About a month ago my pc crashed and i couldnt get it to boot again so i tried a fresh install of windows, no joy. After i do the full format and it copys the files onto the drive for install it reboots to start the install and nothing it just keeps rebooting, I tried installing it on a diffrent hard drive, changed the ram, gfx card still no joy then i put in a Celeron and it worked.

So i thought my conroe was broken, called overclockers got an RMA eventually and was told by a guy called Andy if i didnt know how to test parts myself properly i shouldnt build my own pc bit rude i thought considering the money i have spent in his shop.

I sent it back i got an email from them next morningat 10am saying they had received it and then another at 4pm the same day saying it had been despatched back to me so i phoned them and they said there was nothing wrong with it.

I bought a cheap Asus board from my local computer shop tried conroe on that same problem, so this week i bought an Abit AW9D-max same problem so yesterday i got a enermax liberty 620w thinking it was the only thing it could be and still the same problem, when i try to do a fresh install it keeps rebooting and when i put the conroe in on an old install it goes to the screen with the safe mode options. And the only way to get the pc working is the Celeron.
I hope i have explained this ok and somebody can help because im all out of ideas and cash.
thanks
keith

It might be a temperature problem.

What heatsink are you using?

did you apply a small ammount of thermal paste?

What are your temperatures? (it should say it in the bios)

Could be memory, they are very sensitive to memory. And yes, what are the temps.

Update your BIOS, using the Celeron. And in your next post, include every piece of equipment that's inside of your case.

Where did you get the CPU from?

Did you get a Retail Box or just an OEM (Tray)?

If you got the retail box, why don't you try to RMA the CPU through Intel directly?

First, I think you spent way too much on parts to figure this out.
my advice to you is to take the whole comp to the store you bought the CPU from, and ask them to install it properly. tell them the problem, I think the fact that the celeron had worked fine, no doubt that the CPU was the problem.

go to the store, tell them to figure it out for you. you switched 3 mobo's, 1 powersupply, hd, gfx, .. wayyy too much.
