Serinity: The Movie & Firefly

I thought it was pretty cheesy and lame, not to mention cliche.

the only part that really interested me was the mystery behind River, which got totally ignored on the show until the last couple episodes, and when finally revealed in the movie, was kind of a letdown anyways.

Firefly was SUCH an awesome series. I have the DVD.

So pissed it was cancelled. The movie I have yet to see, but I really want to

One question, which one comes first. The show or the Movie?

You can really watch them independently. You just won't know as much about the characters if you watch the movie first.

Noted though that the movie takes place pretty much after the series. Although they don't really refer to anything from the series.

Man, why did that show get cancel...

So many people would agree with you. 🙂

Coincidentally I have the Season, which is great in its entirety. But Fox only released a few episodes.

The movie was great though, but I think fanboys and the like were disapointed (mainly because main characters didn't end up how they wanted them to <not all happy endings> ). I thought the movie was well done though.

The series came first. The movie takes place several months after the events in the final episode of Firefly.

Supposedly, Joss Whedon plans to make two more movies, but it was a while ago that I heard those rumors and haven't heard anything since.

Best.
Sci-Fi.
Evar!

The movie was good, though not as good as I'd hoped. The series more than made up for it however. I watch the entire box set about every two months or so.

In the movie, I like the scene where the pirate ships came outta the clouds and hovered over the alliance ships, and the humans were like "OMGWTFBBQ!!!"

The movie flopped because fanboys hated how some of the characters ended up... so I don't think another movie is coming out. 🙁

I would have been all for sequels though. The movie was awesome!

Same here (3 weeks though). 😛

I let a friend borrow the series and he returned it the next day. I asked him if he didn't like the show or something. It turned out he watched the whole series in a whole day and loved it. 😉 He even watched some episodes over again. "Special Hell..." 😉

The show was buffy in space, basically. Fun and stupid, hardly thought-provoking, campy, etc. I enjoyed it as a popcorn type show, but it's not the groundbreaking masterpiece ATOTers claim it to be. The movie was kind of disappointing.

Did you actually watch the whole series or just a few episodes? The series was excellent. If you just watched the first couple episodes (which set you up for the rest of the series), you would see how goo dit really was.

I only seen like three episodes and the movie and was hooked right away, but havent had time to rent it. I don't if Sci-Fi still plays the episodes.

I thought the Captain was funny.. I though he was married to Zoe but the movie corrected that for me.

The whole series will correct that for you too.

You should also watch the rest of the series. There are some completely great episodes.
"Our Mrs. Reynolds".... Special, Special Hell. You will definitely crack up at that phrase once you watch it.
