Those points (at least three all occured at crucial times (1 at deuce, and 2 at the 5th set when she was trying to break back)

still I find it hard to feel bad for her becuase she insists on wearing jean skirts making her look like a hooker.

The nice thing that should have happened was Capriati aknowledge that the ball was in and show that sportmanship still exists. Instead of saying "I really did not see the ball" or "it was close" everybody know she saw the ball well inside the line.

I remember 2-3 instances a few years ago players givng points to opponents when the umpire made a mistake. It was a classy show of sportsmanship not present in todays must win at all cost attitude.

It does not happen all the time at this level of play. I watch tennis regularly, and have never seen another instance where a judge miscalled a score (wimbledon this year) or a player basically lied (french open 2003). Bad calls happen a lot. Questionable overrules as well. But blatantly awful overrules only happen rarely, at most 5 times in the years I've watched tennis.

When Capriati was a rookie and a tennis sensation before her famous downfall, she did that during one of her early matches. I remember her telling the judge he made a mistake and the point was awarded to her opponent. I can't understand why anyone would hate her, she started out under a lot of pressure at 14, had somer really rough years, and has now revitalized her life and career. If anything she should be an inspiration to everyone.

Exactly. It's not like the judge simply made a miscall; she overruled the line judge and said that the ball was out. That's a pretty blatant thing to do. I don't think Serena would've cared as much if it hadn't seemed so obvious. Mistakes happen, and I'm sure the players are used to it, but to have something like this occur...especially when you're as competitive as a professional athlete, it's REALLY going to piss you off.

From what I know (if I remember correctly), the court owner/manager person said she wouldn't be officiating anymore matches this tournament. I don't know if she'll ever return to that venue, actually.
