Well, we are doomed if we can't even stand a 2.4% "cut" in federal spending...that isn't really even a cut...since the amount of money spent is actually increasing...

But if the mere talk of such a small cut brings about cries of armageddon, we'll never get anywhere.

I woke up this morning, and <gasp>, the world had not ended. Shockingly, I was able to get out of bed without government assistance. Amazing!

It's midnight tonight, apparently. So it hasn't happened yet.

Holyshit Batman! I posted the wrong link! :) Sorry caffeine hasn't kick in yet. ;)

Suck it, nay sayers! ;)

I'm not sure what you're trying to say with that link. It's a story showing (once again) the media bias, and in this case the polling bias, how the real culprits (the dems in the senate) are not even included as an option when polling the public for who is to blame. Pretty much par for the course.

Let me help you with that, here is his direct quote:

"This is not a cliff, but it is a tumble downward. It's conceivable that in the first week, the first two weeks, the first three weeks, the first month ... a lot of people may not notice the full impact of the sequester."

It's pathetic that we can't even tolerate a small decrease in the rate of our increased spending...

Oh, so once again the media and libs have no idea the rate of impact, which, in my opinion, will be absolutely zilch.

THIS

I'm going to lose around 14days work in the next 6months due to this and am fine with that if thats what it takes to get the budget inline.

But even with these cuts the budget is not even close to balanced.

Wow, that is quite the article. This is the important quote in it:
the “sequester” will instead become the law of the land as a result of a failure of Mr. Obama and congressional Republicans to compromise.

Notice how the article's author leaves out congressional Democrats in the blame game. The NY Times is tying the blame to the one person on that side who is not running for re-election.

We did about 50 billion in foreign aid last year. Why not stop giving foreign aid to other countries. Cut that and it would not impact anything here in our own country.

Let other countries figure out how to collect taxes from thier citizens and use it for their issues.

Instead of us using taxpayer money to rebuild schools and roads in other countries.

The FAA is funded by the Airport and Airway Trust Fund. Basically taxes from fuel, tickets, etc. Airports are owned by municipalities and the FAA manages air traffic. It would be very hard for cities across the country to coordinate flights if they each had their own air traffic controllers. What this has to do with the thread... I don't know.
The head of the FAA was on a Sunday talk show, and basically said that if sequestration happens, he will guarantee air safety, and his people's jobs. Basically, saying, fuck air travelers. If they need to wait 90 minutes, for the only FAA guy on duty to wipe his ass, so be it.

The guy was truly New Jersey MOB looking guy.

We never get to see these other Fed Heads (persons of the Federal Government) and it was truly amazing/enlightening to see the head of the FAA bitch about sequestration.

Lets piss off more of these MOB bosses.
