Sequential OS installation & realignment

Later sometime next month, I'll be purchasing a new system. When the new system comes in, it will contain my existing Seagate 160GB (ST3160212a), and a new WD Caviar Black 1TB (1002FAEX). Sometime later, I'll be getting a new SSD from OCZ, probably the 120GB Vertex2.

Here's my dilemma.

Initially I'd like to install XP on the Seagate 160GB, whilst using the new WD Black 1TB for general storage. When the new SSD comes in, it's going to have W7 instead of XP, and it's going to replace the old Seagate 160GB as the boot drive, whilst maintaining the WD 1Tb as storage.

So, when I'm using the Seagate 160GB with XP, and the WD 1TB comes in, I'll have to 'set the jumper' to allow for XP usage (http://www.wdc.com/en/products/advancedformat/). But when I install W7 to the new SSD, am I supposed to remove the jumper on the WD 1TB so that the drive is optimized for W7? Note that the WD 1TB will never be used as a boot drive.

First of all, is WD using Advanced Format for 1TB drives? I thought that was only for their larger drives. Second, if the 1TB is formatted under XP, with the jumper set to offset the sectors by one, then even if you move your primary OS to Win7, that drive will still have the same alignment as long as you don't re-format it. Eventually, if you do re-format it under Win7, then just remove the jumper before you do that.
 
I see. Well that sounds fairly easy 🙂

Also sorry, my bad. It seems the WD 1TB (WD1002FAEX) does not have advanced format. So basically can I still use and format this drive like any other, regardless of OS, without any performance degradation from alignment issues?
