There has to be a limit on how often you call a referendum on something though. You can't just keep calling one until you get the result that you want, particularly for something as complicated as splitting a nation up.
I agree in principle, however if I'm not mistaken the commonly cited reason is Brexit, and that's a pretty good one considering the catastrophe that's unfolded.

Yeah but there's always a reason to call another vote if you're the one looking to get the result that you want.
