Separate video cards for dual monitor?

I have an 8800GT video card for my dual monitor setup.

I'm thinking of purchasing a 260/216 so I can better game on my primary monitor. Does it make sense to run both video cards and have the 8800GT be dedicated to my secondary monitor?

I've been running dual monitors off a single video card for a long time, and never had a need to use a second card. Gaming works just fine and I get the expected performance.

So from a performance perspective it makes no sense unless running PhysX?

Does anyone run 2 cards so they can calibrate both monitors?
