Sennheiser HD580 + Discman Line out = ?

I accidentally (big oops) plugged my Sennheiser HD580 headphones into the line out on my Sony DEJ616 discman... for about one second. Can that do any damage? I swear it sounds different, but it could be my negative attitude + my ears accounting for that.

The line out jack usually puts out *less* voltage/amperage than the amplified headphone jack. Your ridiculously overpriced headphones should be fine.

Your 580's own and will be fine, as i have plugged mine into about everything and they are fine.

Thanks... but it was driven to the point of distortion... maybe i should try that w/ my electric bass =-)
anyway, they weren't overpriced: $175 new w/ dolby surround processing unit.
