These are about the best circumaural closed phones you can get. And this is the lowest price i've ever seen. damn i don't need to buy this though...

I own these and they are great to have for gaming/music on your PC. Don't expect them to be portable though....they are pretty huge!

Really? I really hated my 212's. I found the 280's took a long time to burn in but now they sound great.

It's been at this price for the past 3 months... I've always had it saved in my cart to see if the price goes any lower.

I would agree that the 212s have more bass, but I think they're kind of overdoing it. Overall I like the sound quality on the 280s much better.

I rock out daily on my 280s and thought $120 was a bargain when I bought them...

I guess it depends on what you listen, i mostly listen to trance, on 280s you can not hear some of the bass but on 212pro you can listen deep bass without any distortion.(I usually use winamp and turnoff the EQ.)...but probably if you listen other genre bass could be a overkill. I use creative Extreme Music, it matches up pretty good with the hedset

I paid $84 shipped for mine about 18 months ago and I love them, beautiful frequency response and sound. The only problem is that they are high impedence (64 ohm), so it takes a fair amount of power to drive them at volume.

High-impedance = 400-600 ohms. These are LOW(er) impedance headphones. I can't see too many headphone amps having a problem.

The best you can get? No.

The best for <$75? Yes.

Are these worth the money to upgrade my 212 pros if I just use Intel HD AUdio (Conextant chip). I have loved my 212 pros so far, so are these any better.... especially at blocking out dorm noise?

yeah i meant for the price, obviously.
also to the guy who suggested the beyers, at more than double the price i would hope they are better.

I've had my Senny 280 Pros now for about 9 months now. I think I got them for about the same price from another vendor.

I've been very please with them so far. They are very good at blocking out external sound (which isn't always good). I'd recommend these to anyone looking for a good pair of headphones in this price range.

Ladybuggy has 212s and I much prefer the 280s to them.

I just tried both of ours while off and just confirmed that the 280s are significantly better at isolation.

i got mine from guitar center for 99$ They sound very very very very good for the price and you can't beat 32db of sound isolation. Active noise cancellation is a gimic it adds distortion to music.

Obviously? No, it wasn't obvious, but ok. 😉
